Nozbe Personal: Get tasks done App Reviews

Finally something simple yet powerful across all platforms

All that is left is my getting the discipline to use it every day & getting my family to use it too! What makes me an ultimate fan is that it syncs in with Google calendar, no more copy and pasting between apps - this is a must try if you are looking to Get Things Done!

Great product

Ive been frustrated with the various "solutions" to organizing my work life. This feels like i finally found whay works best for me.

One of the few done right.

Ive tried many ToDo applications, and none have ever captured me in the way that this interface does. It is similar to Producteev, but this one actually works. Producteev lost To Dos constantly, but Ive yet to experience anything like that with this app. This app is smoother, more efficient, and its far more visually appealing (though this may just be my personal tastes coming into play). I look forward to seeing where they take this app in the future.

Nozbe Review

I have flirted with using Nozbe as my go to GTD app for some time but have always been resistant because there wasnt a desktop version available. Well with the release of this app that has all changed and now I am engrossing myself in this "to the book implementation of GTD," application. Dont get me wrong, I like the fact that the app is device agnostic and that I can access from anywhere but at work I need a "non-connected" option and this fulfills that role. I do wish that keyboard shortcuts were available for the desktop version as this would be a huge productivity boost in and of itself, however the Nozbe team always appears to be updating their apps so I have no doubt that this is being worked on right now.

Amazing for capturing all your "stuff"

Ive been using Nozbe for less than a year, but am quickly becoming a bigger and bigger fan. I started out with all their free software to see if I would like it. Im been so impressed that Ive since bought the iPhone app, then the yearly subscription to their service, and most recently the iPad app. I would be LOST without it on all my devices and computers!

GTD just got better!

Nozbe has been my favorite app for some time and this desktop version brings GTD to another level. Things I like: -flawless sync -secure and stable backend -nice looking -the best customer service around -improved collaboration features

Simple and Intuitive to use…great design as well!

Keep in mind this is only version 1.1 but is very solid when it comes to design and usability. There are certainly some feature enhancements that are needed but there is not doubt this app will get there…it can only get better IMO.

Oh boy, you have to pay to use it…no thanks!

I decided to give this a try and came to the shocking discovery that you have to pay a monthly fee to use this app. How pathetic. Ill stick with Things by CulturedCode. Deleted.

Five stars but 1 thing that could be faster!

When moving around tasks up and down the list it doesnt flow fast enough it works but delays. Good app otherwise.

Good, but should still be BETA

As some comments below explain: this has the general idea of a good GTD, but it seems they rolled the ball before they got in the court. Pretty ridiculous that ANY app would be void of shortcuts (no copy, no paste, no cmd+a (select all)) nothing! The design looks pretty lame—a lot of attention to detail missing and the cholors scheme is too low contrast. I can tell this will improve, so Im hoping time will tell…

Great Improvement to an Awesome App!

I love Nozbe. My company has been using it for almost 2 years and it has saved us SO MUCH TIME in meetings. It helps us all stay on the same page with projects and helps our management know where we are on individual projects. This app is a huge help because Im not always conencted to the web when I need to work on tasks. The app is fast, usually faster than the web app, and is seamless. I really like the new drag and drop features they added in this version. It would be 5 stars, but Im running into a problem when I complete many tasks, the program crashes in Mountain Lion. Im sure its a complex fix in the code, but the Nozbe team has always been fast to respond. Even when the program crashes on me, it still remembers everything I did right before the crash, so very little productivity is lost, just a slight annoyance. Thanks Nozbe for providing this great app!

This is beta, not 1.2. But still pretty darn good!

After using it awhile, edit tasks will stop working and youll need to restart. Same thing happens with dragging tasks to project folders. Finally, filtering Next Actions by Label, etc. will make this fully usable. But it is a MAJOR step up from the previous version. And a MAJOR step up for the Nozbe platform in general. Note that an identical desktop version is available for Windows. This makes it great for people who use Windows at work and Mac at home. Fix those bugs, add those features, and this will be a 5 star app. As it is, this new version is reason enough to make the permanent switch to Nozbe - I just did.

Nozbe is great, but the app could use a little improvement

In my experience, the Nozbe desktop app has a few stability issues, but it is easy to use. When using the menu bar icon, be sure not to include any parameters such as #priority or #today; also, the green add button at the lower right of the window doesnt work in calendar view. You can work around that by using the smaller add button at the top, which will allow you to use the #parameters. I like this app and use it all the time, just take note of these issues.

Buggy App for a Great Product

The Nozbe system/platform is great, but this app is horribly buggy - Im constantly changing from inbox view to Projects view, etc. or completely closing and restarting the app to correct graphic display issues that shouldnt be happening. The older "Nozbe To-Do" app was much better (Not to be confused with the "Nozbe Web" app, which wasnt much more than an app icon that opened the web browser)

love it, but where is the menubar list?

Im a new user for Nozbe and it looks really great, with contexts, repeats, projects, etc. Not to mention it connects with Evernote. But there is only one thing missing - a menubar icon that when clicked, shows a LIST of your upcoming tasks. I dont really like having windows open to check off my to-dos.

Half-baked

I looked at Nozbe a year ago and walked away because it lacked the desktop programs for Mac and Windows. I do love the idea of Evernote and Dropbox integration and these are features that have the potential to pull me away from Omnifocus. However, this app is only half-baked and lacks many necessary features like nested projects and the ability to use the keyboard for doing things like deleting a task - or starting one. Its a mouse click-fest when navigating through this app. The evernote integration is vastly improved over earlier versions, but still feels clunky and tenuous. The dropbox integration is a cool concept, but without native viewers you are forced to download everything for a simple look at a file. Its almost as if this app is a glorified web app without any native understanding of Mac OS to give things like the spacebar, delete-key and enter-key a functiion in the program. Its headed in the right direction - but not ready.

too basic

you cant set priorities and almost no preferences to control anything in the app. might as well use a flat document to manage your list. moving it to the trash.

Doesnt function as described

A requirement for any good task manager, I need to be able to enter tasks quickly with my keyboard. Nozbe attracted me with the ability to do this, including repeating tasks from the quick entry window. But none of the syntax described on their website actually works for recurring tasks in this app. I even tried their own examples, and they didnt work. I tried to delete a task by pressing the Delete key. Nothing. The app feels a bit blank, still in development. Just check out the preferences to see the single option you have. Maybe it will get there, but its not there yet.

Good but needs integration with Reminders

I would actually rate this 5 stars if it had integration with Reminders, but it does not. (at least not that I can find) To be truly useful, it should integrate with the primary systems of the OS. I rely on Reminders for all of my tasks. I shouldnt have to have the Nozbe iPhone App to have synchronization.

Disappointing

After using Things for years, I wanted to find a GTD app that works on Windows platform as well, so decided to check this out. Several glaring problems after only an hour playing with 1.4.1: -"quick entry" hotkey brings up entry box, but then it WONT GO AWAY - no key or mouse click will cause the entry to be entered, so I have to quit Nozbe and lose my entry. -looked in vain for a place to troubleshoot this problem via google - all of the Nozbe "support" entries are standard questions but do not address bugs. -no keyboard shortcuts on the desktop version I could go on but Im not spending any more time. For an application that does not provide any better support, I am not impressed.
